Dr. Jayne Yelk
Dr. Yelk hails from a country home in DeForest, Wisconsin and has lived in the local area all her life. She completed 2 years of undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before entering into the UW Veterinary School where she focused on Equine and Small Animal Medicine and Surgery.
Upon graduation Dr. Yelk joined the Lodi Veterinary Hospital where she practiced progressive small animal preventative medicine, surgery and emergency/critical care medicine for almost 9 years before joining the UCA/ECA team. She has special interests and additional training in small animal cardiology and diagnostic ultrasonography. A lifelong animal lover and owner, Dr. Yelk finds the most rewarding part of her job is the human-animal bond while helping people to help their pets (especially in times of urgent need!)
In her free time Dr. Yelk stays busy spending time with her 3 young children (ages 7, 4 and 1) and her husband Tim (a Product Development Agronomist). They share their country home (and barn!) with 7 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 horses. She enjoys being with friends and family while horseback riding, biking, and watching/participating in various "kid-related" activities (soccer, 4-H, school, ...) In addition, Dr. Yelk is a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church with professional affiliations including the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.
