Employment Opportunities

Madison is a beautiful and eclectic city, known for its university, diversity, outdoor sports, performing arts and Wisconsin charm.

The UW is minutes away allowing Big Ten football fans the experience they crave as well as many other excellent sports teams at the university and professional level.

The capital square offers classic style mixed with some of the radical idealism for which Madison is known. The University of Wisconisn and Madison Area Technical College offer educational opportunities paralleled by few and are the main organized training facilities for veterinary medicine in Wisconsin.

The weather in Madison provides the best of each and every season.  The temperatures in the summer average 80 which is great for getting out to the beaches or hiking at many state parks within driving distance.  The winter weather in Wisconsin gets a bad reputation, but since Madison is located in the south east portion of the state, the temperatures average just below freezing and there is often snow for recreation.  Skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and icefishing are very common in southern Wisconsin.

Madison has a very progressive view on land management and is a green city.  There are bike lanes on the roads, large farmer's markets dot the city on the weekends and just a short drive from the clinics will provide a rural or semi-rural lifestyle allowing relaxation, personal space and of course space for all our animals. Even residents within the city can have a few chickens to help provide eggs and fun for a family.

Madison has many city run dog parks to allow your canine companions to play in open spaces and unlike some dog parks that are small and have no grass to speak of, the dog parks in Madison are large and varied from woods to prairie and some have water to swim.

Due to the large size of our staff and ever expanding needs, the Emergcncy Clinic for Animals and Urgent Care for Animals are always looking for highly motivated, caring people to help with the treatment of our patients.  If you have an interest in employment please call or mail a copy of your resume.

Benefits are highly competitive and include:

  • Allowance for personal pet medical bills
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Paid vacation
  • Uniform allowance
  • Continuing Education allowance
  • SIMPLE IRA with matching
  • Working as a member of a team in veterinary critical care
  • All the coffee you care to drink :)
